Composer Serge Arcuri passes away
The Canadian Music Centre in Quebec (CMC) announced Thursday afternoon that composer Serge Arcuri has died after a long illness. Serge Arcuri had just turned 70 on June 10.

The musical arts community of Quebec has thus lost one of its most illustrious and accomplished musicologists.
The Canadian Music Centre (CMC), whose Quebec offices are located on Crescent Street in downtown Montreal, acts much like a publisher in that it prints scores for orchestras with a work by a Canadian composer registered with the CMC on their program and collects royalties for its public performance, which it redistributes to the rights holders.
Québec Regional Director Claire Marchand presents the mission of CMC Québec and its history over the past 50 years.
Mr. Bertrand officially took office on September 13, 2023.
This season, five monographic concerts will take place, each featuring the music of André Hamel, Jean Lesage, Simon Bertrand, Michel Longtin and Linda Bouchard.
