Previously Executive Director of the Coalition for Music Education in Canada for seven years, she implemented innovative programs such as Youth4Music that empowered youth leadership to advocate for the value of music-learning in their lives. She managed an annual celebration of music education that involved music makers of diverse backgrounds and genres in schools and communities across Canada (Music Monday); most notably, a live earth-space singalong with Commander Chris Hadfield in the International Space Station.
Other past roles include Executive Director of the College of Midwives of Ontario for thirteen years, followed by senior management with YWCA Canada and transitional leadership for DAREArts. She led a successful business providing management services to not-for-profit organizations, including organizational transformation such as strategic planning and capacity building.
Nimmons’ father, Phil is a founding member of the Canadian Music Centre and the Canadian League of Composers. She has deep respect for and is inspired by the CMC’s mission, vision and music creation in Canada.
With over a decade of accounting and financial management experience, Kevin’s expertise spans public accounting firms and industry, including arts organizations. Prior to joining CMC, he played a pivotal role in Casalova, a Toronto-based real estate tech company, where he established and managed the finance function for five diverse, related companies. Kevin’s diverse background also includes contributions to Starvox Entertainment and various public accounting firms.
His seasoned financial acumen and operational finesse drive our organization’s financial stability and growth trajectory.
Peter brings over a decade of experience performing research, cataloguing, digitization, teaching, and reference services in a variety of library roles – at York University, the CBC, the CNIB, and more – in between stints as a bilingual proofreader and copy editor. He holds a Master of Information from the University of Toronto and a BA (Hons) from the University of King’s College.
Born and raised in New Brunswick, Peter has crossed Canada in the back of a tour van and the stern of a canoe, and now calls Toronto home – where he lives just around the corner from the CMC.
As the Music Services Manager, Ana-Maria works closely with composers, performers and well-established organizations (orchestras and libraries) from across Canada and around the world. She is responsible for managing the music services department and ensuring that requests for scores, orchestral parts and CDs are fulfilled in a professional and timely manner.
Originally from Prince Edward Island, Keith has studied classical composition at Acadia and McGill universities and has been performing as a multi-instrumentalist since 2012.
He currently plays guitar for Toronto acts including The Feel Good Band, Kai Samuels, and The Breakables. He lives with his partner Claire and their cat Shinko.
Originally from the West Coast, Andrea has BFA’s from the University of Victoria and Emily Carr University of Art and Design. Her music background includes running an electronic music netlabel, writing for Exclaim, Resident Advisor and MusicWorks magazine, was featured in Nylon magazine and was one of the first Juno judges for the best electronic album of the year. In her spare time, she loves to travel with her partner and spends most of her evenings cuddling up with her cat, Pookie.
